Charles Henry Eakes

January 6, 1943 - June 9, 2019

Charles Henry Eakes, 76, of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, June 9, 2019, surrounded by his family. Funeral Services are scheduled for Wednesday, June 12 at 11 AM at Plainview Church of Christ, 14500 US-231, Hazel Green, AL, 35750 with burial to follow at Lincoln Cemetery, Lincoln County, TN. The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM on Tuesday, June 11 at Plainview Church of Christ. Mr. Eakes was born on January 6, 1943 in Lincoln County and was a lifelong resident of Lincoln County. He was a construction worker for 33 years and a mechanic for life. He was a member of the Plainview Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles “Bud” and Johnie May Eakes; sister, Dorthy Eakes Osborn; brother, Jerry David Eakes and granddaughter, Gracie Lynn Gatlin. Mr. Eakes is survived by his wife of 55 years, Judy Lynn Eakes; sister, Peggy Foster; brother, Eugene Eakes; son, Jacky Eakes (Lisa); daughters, Sherry Wall (Jerry) and Donna Chandler (Josh); eight grandchildren, Steven Eakes (Hannah), Jonathan Eakes, Luke Eakes, Dustin Gatlin, Kyle Chandler, Kayla Kelly (Clay), Koby Chandler, Koda Joe Chandler and one great grandchild, Cole Nichols.
