James "Red" Smith

February 20, 1921 - July 30, 2013

Mr. James Howard “Red” Smith age 92 of Lynchburg, passed away Tuesday July 30, 2013 at Southern Tennessee Medical Center in Winchester. A native of Maysville, Al he was a son of the late Otis Smith and Mattie Acuff Smith. He was a retired Assembly Line Worker in Automobile Manufacturing. He was also a US Army Veteran. Mr. Smith enjoyed riding his scooter to the Iron Kettle for breakfast every morning. He is survived by his sister-in-law Deveta Smith of Winchester, nieces; Tonita Davis and her husband John of Tullahoma and Sheila Holden and her husband Scott of Winchester, nephew; Michael Smith of Al and 7 great nephews. He was preceded in death by a niece, Rita Stewart, sister; Genelle Walker and brothers; William and George Smith. The family will receive friends Thursday August 1, 2013 from 1:00 till 3:00 PM at Lynchburg Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 PM at the Marble Plains Cemetery with Bro.
