Melvin Gene Bunn Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Melvin “Gene” Bunn of Lynchburg passed this life on Tues, August 2, 2022 at the Waters of Winchester at the age of 88 years. Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 5, 2022, at Lynchburg Funeral Home Chapel at 1 PM with burial to follow at Lynchburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 AM until the service time. Mr. Bunn, a native of Fayetteville, was the son of the late Wiley and Flossie Mays Bunn. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lynchburg. He enjoyed collecting and tinkering with old cars, grilling out and being with family and friends. He played the “Spoons” and he always enjoyed attending Blue Grass Festivals. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Mark Jett; daughter, Dorothy Jett; brothers, C R Bunn and Rolley Bunn and sister, Shirley Thompson. Mr. Bunn is survived by his wife, Mary Bunn of Lynchburg; sons, Steve and Ray Bunn of Fayetteville; daughters, Debbie Devereaux of Fayetteville, Tina Bunn (Mark Phillips) of Shelbyville and Lisa Bunn of Tullahoma; sisters, Rosie Charton of Lynchburg, Martha Vidal of California and Dolly Hulsey (Kenneth) of Arizona; fifteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
